According to Most Reverend Philip Anyolo, Bishop of the Homa Bay Diocese in Kenya, “It is estimated that six million children will die this year from malnutrition before their fifth birthday. Many of these infants will pass away quietly in the most remote areas, far removed from the scrutiny and conscience of the international community. Due to the extreme urgency of these and other pressing needs, a request from every parish in America is inevitable...”

Accra — Ghana

January 26, 2011 through February 4, 2011

According to government statistics, one-third of Accra’s residents are living in slums. The average citizen in Ghana works all day to earn the equivalent of $4.11 USD. In an effort to spread the Gospel message in this relatively safe and stable region of West Africa, we are putting together a team of lay evangelists and pastors to reach out to the remote villages.

We would like to buy 1200 pounds of rice, seeds for the villagers to grow crops, Bibles and medical supplies. After renting a van and loading it with supplies, we are planning to minister to several villages before returning to Accra to conduct a pastor’s conference and evangelization seminar.

Please consider getting involved. We need to search out and rescue the orphan children living in extreme poverty. We will be taking food, clothes and medical supplies to the slums and trash dumps. Please consider joining our ministry team. Your church can also help by participating in the Parish Partnership Program, or by putting together a team of lay evangelists.

If you would like to make a financial contribution, I will send you an autographed copy of Heavenly Treasure, along with a tax deductible letter for your donation. Please make checks payable to African Missionaries and mail them to P.O. Box 27422 Denver, CO 80227.
